Not a big update, minor CSS fixes and the thumbnail thing
= 4.0.4 =
* Archive pages now display comic thumbnails for ComiC Easel if show archives as links enabled
* CSS: body.wide set properly for when the sidebars get removed!important
* CSS: .header-info padding removal when used as click block
* CSS: 780px 980px #page instead of 782/982 .. extra 2px was wrong, fixed
New CSS Elements in the style.css that handle the archive pages display of thumbnails
This CSS id dependent on what your thumbnails are set in the wp-admin -> settings -> media, adjust the widths and heights accordingly
.archivecomicthumbwrap { display: inline-block; float: left; width: 120px; margin: 5px 3px; height: 200px; overflow: hidden; } .archivecomicthumbdate { text-align: center; } .archivecomicframe { text-align: center; } .archivecomicframe img { width: 120px; height: auto; max-height: 200px; }
Hate to be a bother, but I updated this morning and my right sidebar is now displaying below the body, like the body (or possibly the sidebar) is too wide by a few pixels. Any suggestions?
Nevermind, I got it. It was the body.layout-2clw #content-column. Dropped its width by 10px and it worked like a charm.
Hi I am having this exact problem. Can you tell me where to fix it?
Appearance -> Editor – edit the style.css
Hey Frumph! I’ve spent several couple hours trying to fix this very problem, and without the forums around, this is the only place I can find that addresses it. Can you help? The site is:
http://baldwinpage.com/?comic=starting-monday
I just want the two side columns to appear on the outside of the comic (which only works if the comic is thin, but I want it to be 700 wide), and the closest I’ve come to maybe coming near to solving it is changing:
#page { width: 1300px;
margin: 0 auto; }
In the past I’ve been able to figure out comicpress with other sites I’ve worked on, I’m not sure why I’m having trouble with easel.
put the comic into the content column inside the appearance -> customize then change the width of #page and #content-column
and you can email / twitter / facebook me anytime
Just so I don’t make the same mistake as I did last week, what is the best way to update to 4.0.4? Can I just update automatically via my wordpress dashboard or do I have to delete the folder via ftp and install the update manually (as it used to be done in previous comicpress versions)?
My comic archive looks fine, but I’m only getting thumbnails for the first page of each chapter and they’re not clickable to that page… do you have any plans into setting it up how Comic Press was in version 2.9.x where the archive was brokendown into chapter pages and within those there were thumbnails of the comic pages? I always liked that format.
Yeah, I liked it too, i’ll re-add it soon.
sorry am kinda new to comic press, is there away to have more then one comic, using comicpress in 4.0.??
Yes, .. read up on Comic Easel the plugin that manages the comics in ComicPress 4.0+ http://comiceasel.com
So, there’s a new version of WordPress (3.7.1) and ComicEasel (1.5.5) available, but I’m wondering if I can just update it via the wordpress dashboard. Should I do one before the other? If you could share any tips, that’d be great. Thanks.
Makes no difference, usually do wordpress before plugins but doesn’t really matter
Hi there,
I’m a bit new to comicpress as well, still using 2.9.4 – mostly using a child theme, do you think I’d lose much updating to 4.0.5?
So I recently updated everything, wordpress, themes and plugins and now my strip isn’t displaying, what did I break?
Y’know, I had kinda ruled out wordpress for webcomic needs as much as I like the CMS, but this actually kinda changed my mind- the amount of support around, that is, not just necessarily this post. I’ve been trying to figure out some solutions for multi-comic stuff too, and I think I’ve found the hints I need to get started here. So thanks!
Well contact me if you need any help on that.
